Happy Friday everyone,
I hope your getting settled into your weekend nicely if your off, if your working then your like me and just getting on with it! 😀
Todays Friday Five post is all about my 5 favourite city breaks, I tend to spend most of my time away on city breaks, I love wondering through the streets and seeing as much of each city as I can! I drive my boyfriend crazy with all the walking we do on holiday but I like to see a city like its the only time I will visit it!
“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” – Samuel Johnson
Its simple, I love London! I love the tube and all the various stops! I can wonder for hours around London and never get bored! I love a walk along the Thames, seeing Big Ben, seeing a West End show and the odd spot of shopping 😉 I advise going to the top of the ONE shopping centre at St Paul’s Cathedral and have a drink overlooking St Paul’s!
New York has my heart! I don’t know what it is about the city but I absolutely love it! There are so many incredible places to see, I have been 3 times and I have only seen a snippet of what there is! Central Park is one of my favourites, I want to go back and cycle around it – I would say all of it but it is very big and I’m not sure I would make it 😉 If you want to shop make sure you take the trip out to Woodbury Common Premium outlets!!
I love to travel so I try to get away as often as I can! I can’t remember why I chose Amsterdam for a trip away, I must have got it cheap! I am a great deal hunter when it comes to holidays! Amsterdam is filled with beautiful cobbled streets, tulips, bikes and miles of canal! I loved our break here, it was cold but bare-able to wonder! There are so many small boutiques in the back streets that are totally worth a visit! My favourite was the Anne Frank Huis, if you are interested in seeing it make sure you book in advance as the queue be out round the block!
What a city! We cycled the Golden Gate Bridge, visited Alcatraz, walked up the steep hills, walked the piers, seen the seals and ate breakfast in Mama’s (get there early, the queues are HUGE!) A beautiful city, with beautiful scenery; I just wish it was closer than a 12 hours flight! Don’t miss out on Alcatraz, its a great few hours and take a walk through China town to see the pigs noses :s
I always say Las Vegas is a sun holiday with more to do at night time! You can chill by the pool by day and party, see a show, shop, sightsee by night! The heat is just beaut on your skin, its dry heat so no stickiness. We seen the Michael Jackson ONE show – it was FAB!! Shopped in Ceasar’s Palace and visited the Grand Canyon! It is a great place to visit if you in a relationship like mine – I like to sunbathe and Kyle doesn’t so there is plenty for him to do whilst I bake!
So there we have it, my 5 favourite cities! I know most of these are in America but Kyle and I have done a lot of touring the USA over the years! Most of these cities I have visited at least twice and no doubt I will go again!
If you are going to any of these destinations and would like some questions answered don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’d be happy to help!!
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
